Service Information: Services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Summerville Funeral Home with burial in Prairie Valley Cemetery north of Salisbury.
Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to the Prairie Hill Christian Church or the Prairie Valley Cemetery .


Arlene Binder, 73, of Salisbury, MO, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.  Arlene was born February 15, 1945 north of Salisbury, MO the daughter of Elmer "Ham' Carter and Nellie (Bowen) Carter.  She married the love of her life Donald Gail Binder, who survives of the home.


Arlene was a graduate of Salisbury High School, Class of 1963.  She was a homemaker for years while children were young.  She taught piano lessons for 10 years in her home.  Arlene served on the Salisbury Board of Education for nine years.  She returned to the workforce in April 1986 when she joined the law office of Schirmer, Suter, and Gaw.  Arlene worked for Wayne Schirmer for 27 years before having to retire due to an auto accident.  She loved music, she sang and played the piano.  Arlene is a member of the Prairie Hill Christian Church where she served as choir director and Sunday school teacher for many years.


Arlene is survived by her husband Don of the home, daughter Joy (Bill) Hinkle of Salisbury, sons Troy Binder of Huntsville, MO and Travis (Andrea) Binder of Salisbury, MO, grandchildren Colin Binder, Kyle Hinkle (fiance' Shelby Clark), Emily Binder (fiance' Nick Prevo), Allison Binder, Wade Binder, Ryan Binder, Gavin Binder, Sheldon Binder of Salisbury, MO, Casey Binder, Calvin Binder of Huntsville, MO, great grandchildren Nick Hinkle, Quinn Clark, nieces Christi Carter of Columbia, MO, Heather Settle of Moberly, MO, and nephew Rick Carter of Novinger, MO.  She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Joseph Binder, brother Charles "Corky" Carter, and niece Kathy Carter.
