Biography:
Viola Ernestine Sprouse, 96, of Salisbury, MO, died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at her home. Ernestine was born October 7, 1921 in Marceline, MO the daughter of William Ernest and Viola Mae (Graves) Thompson. She married Pollard Sprouse on January 14, 1939 in Keytesville, MO and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1983.
Ernestine was co-owner of Polly & Bob's Garage, until 1972. During her retirement years, she worked as a dishwasher at McTag's and was an activities aid at the Chariton Park Health Care Center. Ernestine was a member of the Salisbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, making pies, sewing and was always ready for a game of cards.
Ernestine is survived by a daughter Mary Louise (Bob) Vaughan of Salisbury, MO, granddaughter Paula (David) Pancoast of Salisbury, great grandchildren Corey Pancoast and Christa Pancoast of Salisbury, great great grandson Brett Pancoast, niece Doris Jean Hess of MO, and nephews Leroy Dexter of Brusnwick, MO, Paul Stevens of Katy, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant sibling, sister Jewell Dexter, brother Roy Thompson and sister Delores Stevens.
