William "Bill" Henry Leach

William "Bill" Henry Leach, 89, of Salisbury, MO, died Friday, July 13, 2018 at Glasgow Gardens.  Bill was born June 22, 1929 in Ferguson, Missouri the son of Romie and Clara (Tungate) Leach.  He was raised in Forest Green, MO, by his aunt and uncle James "Brownie" and Ardenia Brown.  Bill married Barbara Vasser on December 17, 1950 in Kansas City, MO, and she survives of the home.


Bill served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician.  He worked for the Lennox Tool Company as an engineering draftsman.  He owned and operated Cartron Electronics in Shawnee Mission, Kansas until retirement in 1995.  Returning to the Salisbury area Bill was instrumental in the creation of the Millstone Plaza on Broadway and founded the Bill Leach RV park at Potts Park.  He also served on the Salisbury City Council for many years.  Bill enjoyed writing short stories, some that were published in the Salisbury Spectator.  His stories are also published at https://wordpress.com/view/billleachblog.wordpress.com


Bill is survived by his wife Barbara, a son Rod Leach of Lee Summit, MO, 4 daughters Ronda Duvall of Basehor, KS, Rita Jenkins of Keytesville, MO, Robin Leach Hahlbeck and husband Nick of Lake Waukomis, MO, Renee Leach of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren Josh Boring, Ashley Gargus, Jena Hahlbeck, Patrick Leach, April Sands, Bobby Gaston, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Leach and Clinton Leach.
