Visitation Information: Visitation is Thursday, March 7, from 4-8:00 p.m., with vigil at 7:30 p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.
Service Information: Mass of Christian burial is 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial and military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph School Foundation.

Biography:

Jerry Lee Young, 82, of Salisbury, MO, died Friday, March 1, 2019 at his home.  He was born May 29, 1936 in Clifton City, MO the son of Paul L. and Margaret (Reuter) Young.  Jerry married Barbara Vollrath on May 6, 1961 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, MO.

 

Jerry was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Sedalia, MO class of 1954.  He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1961  He worked as a sheetmetal worker at SEMCO in Salisbury from 1963-`1995. Jerry was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Salisbury Knights of Columbus, volunteer for the Salisbury Fire Department for 45 years.  He enjoyed camping with his family and friends, welding, and being with family, especially the grandchildren.

 

Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home, two sons, Rick Young and his significant other Debbie Hunt of Brunswick, MO, Matt and Sharon Young of Salisbury, MO; two daughters, Linda Young and Troy Frankes of Carrollton, MO, Jill and Mitch Jarvis of Shawnee, KS, two brothers Charles (Janet) Young of Pilot Grove, MO, Robert (Marilyn) Young of Las Vegas, NV, two aunts Dorothy Young of Salisbury, Margaret Twenter of Boonville, MO, nine grandchildren Jennifer Heishman of Columbia, MO, Kimberly (Jason) Reichert of Lee's Summit, Monica (Andrew) McGinnis of Columbia, MO, Chase (Audrey) Young of Mendon, MO, Riley Young of Mendon, MO, Royce Young of Marceline, MO, Zac Jarvis of Shawnee, KS, Lauren Jarvis of Shawnee, KS, grandson-in-law Scott Wilson, great grandchildren Bryce, Brandy, Madelyn, Morgan, Aubrey, Blair, several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Lee Young, granddaughter Hope Marie (Heishman) Wilson on 1/11/19.
