Service Information: Services are Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, with burial with military honors at the Keytesville City Cemetery.
Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to the Keytesville City Cemetery or Bennett Cemetery.


Clarence Estel Owens, 96, of Independence, MO, formally of Keytesville MO, passed away Tuesday, April 2nd 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born February 11th 1923 in Keytesville, MO. Clarence is the son of Robert and Rose (Collet) Owens. On June 29th 1943, in Higginsville MO, he married Margaret Edwards.


Clarence was a member of the Keytesville Baptist Church. He worked at the Dalton Grain Elevator in Dalton, MO. Clarence also worked at MidWest Pre-Cote in Kansas City from 1960-1978.


He enjoyed collecting coins and fishing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of the 3rd degree, and a member of the American Legion Post 21. He served in the Army from 1943-1945 and was in the Battle of the Bulge. 


Survivors include one son, John Owens (Deborah) of Blue Springs, MO, two daughters, Donna Hume, of Ft. Worth, TX and Sandra Caldwell of Blue Springs, MO. Eight grandchildren, Wendi Wills (Jimmy), Carrie  Deaver (Dallas), Cheri Downs (Dustin), Lori Young (Michael),

Scott Caldwell (Hannah), Ken Caldwell Jr. (Teresa)., Jason Owens, Jeffery Owens, and fifteen great grandchildren.


In addition to both of his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years Margaret, six brothers, Walter Owens, Richard Neul Owens, John Chester Owens, Virgil Eugene Owens, William Jasper Owens,, Robert James Owens, and three sisters, Lucy Frances Owens, Ruby Vernelle Wages, and Virginia Mae Elliott.
