Visitation Information: Visitation is Friday, August 9, 2019 from 4-7:00 p.m., with Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Visitation is 9-10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the St. Mary's of the Angel Catholic Church in Wien.
Service Information: Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Mary's of the Angel Catholic Church with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Hamden.
Contributions: Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Biography:

Marion Frances Grotewiel, 90, of Salisbury, MO, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Macon Health Care Center in Macon, MO.  Marion was born April 22, 1929 in Glasgow, Missouri the daughter of Edward B. and Christine Josephine (Brands) Brucks.  She married Fabian Henry Grotewiel on September 1, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasgow, MO, and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2012.

 

Marion attended St. Mary's Catholic Schools and graduated from Glasgow High School, Class of 1947. She was a homemaker, worked as a cook at the Salisbury Elementary School, and at the Pastry Palace. Marion was also a talented seamstress.  She was a member of the St. Mary's of the Angel Catholic Church in Wien and the churches altar sodality.

 

Marion is survived by sons Kenneth (Jennifer Johnson) Grotewiel of Lawrence, KS, James (Debbie) Grotewiel of Clifton Hill, MO, Larry Grotewiel of Huntsville, MO, David (Misti) Grotewiel of Santee, CA, Robert Grotewiel of Salisbury, MO, Michael Grotewiel of Richmond, VA, daughters Luanna (Steve) Ganz of Columbia, MO, Sharon (Philip) Weimer of Salisbury, MO, Lisa (David) Kiene of Maryville, MO, sister Sister Luanna Brucks, eighteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Arnold Brucks, Harold Brucks, and sister Mary Lou Perry.
